November 25th, Version 4.0 of ScanTool Released

This release introduces our completely re-designed user-interface. Now the ScanTool can resized, windows and toolbars can be docked, and all are completely customizable. With this release we introduced more '05 and '06 Ford model year coverage. Noteworthy in the update is the fact that the GM enhanced interface no longer requires sensor auto detection and the addition of several thousands sensors and dozens of bi-directional controls. Last, but not least, Chrysler enhanced now supports model years '01 - '05.

September 29th, Version 3.6 Releases

Version 3.6 expands our Chrysler and Toyota enhanced coverage. Our Toyota enhanced now supports vehicles up to the model year of 2005; while adding 1K new trouble code descriptions, and dozens of more sensors and actuator commands. Chrysler enhanced now has full support for the entire '96 - '01 engine series; also, giving us Cummins diesel support. Those are just a few of the new features.


September 28th, TEAM AVI Uses AutoEnginuity's ScanTool in Mode $06 Training Video

Automotive Video, Inc. ("TEAM AVI") has created a Mode $06 instructional video to teach the intricacies of one of the most misunderstood aspects of the OBD-II. Instructed by John Forro Jr., who has written on the topic of Mode $06 and has taught it nationally. This new video incorporates the AutoEnginuity ScanTool as a teaching tool. The video will be a great asset for any AutoEnginuity ScanTool owner who wants to learn how to fully utilize Mode $06. For more details, click here.


August 19th, USB, Chrysler, Mazda enhanced and 3.5 Version of ScanTool Released

In one of the largest releases to date, AutoEnginuity now offers support for a completely Plug-n-Play USB OBD-II connector, enhanced Chrysler and Mazda options, and version 3.5 of the ScanTool product. Version 3.5 will be available in English, Spanish, and German.


July 20th, 2005 Spanish and German Versions of ScanTool Released

Version 3.4 of the ScanTool has been professionally translated into Spanish and German. The Spanish and German versions include fully translated documentation and are available for free with all future AutoEnginuity versions.


July 3rd, 2005 3.4 Released

Version 3.4 adds more significant GM light truck enhanced support, DTC status bit decoding, enhanced Freeze Frame support, and more Ford system tests (KAM Reset and Service Bleed for example), to name just a few of the features.


July 1st, 2005 Motor Magazine Spotlights Scan Tools

The June issue of Motor Magazine discusses professional scan tools and discusses AutoEnginuity's ScanTool. The article is entitled, "Scan Tool Assessment" and is written by the very knowledgeable Bob Pattengale.

May 25th, 2005 PC SpeedTracer 3.0 Released

Version 3.0 now offers new graphs with anti-alias lines and zooming, support for multiple plots per graph, saving graphs with labels, volumetric efficiency computations, coast down and Cd computations, and dozens of new vehicle profiles.


April 15th, 2005 3.3 Released

Version 3.3 is the "BIG" GM upgrade we've all been talking about. After a full year of work, we are pleased to announce the addition of GM body and transmission, and more light trucks powertrain to our enhanced GM support option. Also added to the ScanTool was VIN decoding, a Grid data view, Hot Keys, a more customizable and newer user-interface, and sporting connection times 2x as fast to name a few of the key features.


January 31st, 2005 3.2 Released

Version 3.2 adds full active command support for our enhanced interfaces, CAN 6x support, custom support for the non-compliant BMW '01 - '05 M3, more Subaru support, to name just a few key features.


December 20th, 2004 3.1 Released

In keeping with our customers’ many needs, we released a version specifically to answer their requests. Now supporting CAL, CVN, and ECM id reporting, more Mode 6 translations, preserving the vehicle last selected, and color-coded Mode 6 completion states to name only a few of the new features. Like all of our downloads, 3.1 is free on our website. Special thanks to all of the iATN contributors for their insight and expertise in making this tool better.


September 21st, 2004 Toyota Enhanced Interface Released

With Toyota/Lexus as the current leader of Japanese import vehicles, doing an enhanced interface was imperative for our customers. AutoEnginuity is proud to have completed that work. Our Toyota/Lexus enhanced interface contains 112 powertrain sensors to help you to better service these vehicles.


September 13th, 2004 AutoEnginuity Releases Version 3.0

Version 3.0 is a revolution in the Scan Tool line. Now with features such as playback, printing and saving of DTC and IM reports, a new user-interface, more trouble codes, fully translated Mode 6 data, and an improved Ford enhanced inteface to support all 66 systems and 2800+ sensors.

June 9th, 2004 AutoEnginuity Goes European

AutoEnginuity took their technical team to Europe to get hands on EOBD training. With the next major release Scan Tool and SpeedTracers will include improved EOBD (3 and 4) support and they will also be translated into French, German, Italian, and Spanish.


May 26th, 2004 Scan Tool Used in 101 Projects for Your BMW 3-Series

Scan Tool and SpeedTracer are featured in the 101 Projects for Your BMW 3-Series book due for release in December 2004. This is the third edition to this renowned book series by Pelican Parts owner, Wayne R. Dempsey. This prolific author has written several books on project cars and automotive technical articles. April 11th, 2004 GM and Ford Enhanced Interfaces Released

Adding to our long list of features is now the ability to communicate directly with your Ford or GM vehicle through non-OBDII protocols. With the new enhanced interfaces you can now access as many 500+ sensors with the GM version and 400+ sensors with the Ford version.


Feb 23rd, 2004 2.1 Released

Feb 2nd, 2004 CAN Released

The CAN hardware was ready for several months and many of our customers pre-ordered. We have now completed our software support for the CAN interface.


January 5th, 2004 Version 2.0 Released

We are pleased to announce another feature-rich release. Now supporting the new OBDII extended sensors (to include wide-band oxygen sensors). Some of the other major features are: 1) better serial connection information for more robust description of the connection status; 2) new color-coded meters replacing the grid; 3) VIN support; and 4) dozens more trouble code descriptions; and, 5) an animated GIF logo to show a heartbeat while connecting. December 11th, 2003 Palm Scan Tool Released

AutoEnginuity has successfully ported the popular Scan Tool to yet another platform. Now all the features that you have come to love in the PC-based Scan Tool can be found on Palm devices. Special thanks goes to Jason Blackston on our development team for hitting all of our schedules and delivering yet another solid version of the Scan Tool.

November 21st, 2003 SpeedTracer Released

We are pleased to announce that SpeedTracer has released. We spent a considerable amount of time evaluating how the OBDII port could be used to facilitate performance analysis. SpeedTracer is a culmination of that effort. Thanks to Pete Catsulis and TechnoDyne Racing for all of their input and dynamometer time.


October 12th, 2003 Extended Warranty Period

We are pleased to announce that we are extending our warranty period to one full year for our OBDII connector. The terms of the warranty will remain the same. This warrranty will retroactively apply to all our customers.


October 1st, 2003 Version 1.2 Release

With the new 2003 and 2004 vehicles around the corner, we ramped up our development to implement more support for new trouble codes and vehicle ECUs. Now with better support for ISO vehicles, faster connection times, and a battery voltage readout. Of course the User Guide was updated to include more Hard-To-Find Vehicle DLCs and more information on drive cycles. Version 1.2 is now available for free download for both the Pocket PC and PC platform. AutoEnginuity would like to thank the newly enlisted beta sites for all their great help with another successful release.


August 28th, 2003 Pocket PC Release

AutoEnginuity is proud to announce that our acclaimed software has been successfully ported to the Microsoft Pocket PC (2002-2003) platform. Although the Pocket PC is smaller in its form factor, it's not smaller in its features or support. Not only is the feature set the same as the PC, but we implemented the same interface our customers have come to love; while retaining the user interface nuances of the Pocket PC.

August 1st, 2003 Version 1.1 Release

The PC version of Scan Tool is getting more DTCs and fixing some connection issues with Nissan ECUs. This release adds multiple ECU support and an Oxygen Sensor dedicated window.
